The goal of the program is to provide fellows with opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills they need to enter and successfully complete graduate programs in education and related fields and ultimately to increase the diversity of the education sciences.
Knowledge and skills related to research and social justice are constructed through a combination of academic, mentoring, and professional development experiences, which are represented as components in the PURPOSE professional socialization framework. This model illustrates the content and processes within the socialization framework as they relate to the main program outcomes.
